ChatGPT for Faculty and Instructors

What is ChatGPT?

ChatGPT is “a computer program created by OpenAI that can understand and generate text like a human. It has been trained on a huge amount of text, so it can respond to questions and have conversations in a way that sounds natural. For example, if you ask ChatGPT a question, it will use what it has learned to generate a response that makes sense and is relevant to your question. This can make it easier and more enjoyable for people to communicate with technology.”

To get started with ChatGPT, you must create an OpenAI account.

Go to https://chat.openai.com and click the "Sign up" button.

Enter your email address and click "Continue." Then, choose a password.

A verification email will be sent to the address you entered in step 2.
Follow the instructions in this email.

Enter your personal details in the resulting screen. Then, enter and verify your
phone number with the resulting code.

Now, you can visit https://chat.openai.com and log in to start a chat session.
