For journal articles, book chapters, music scores, multimedia, dissertations and other items that can be sent electronically, requests are made through Richmond Libraries through your ILLIAD account. Your request will be processed by the access services team in Richmond. You will be notified by email when your requested item is available for download.

ILLiad is the resource sharing management system used to process all electronic requests. The ILLiad system allows users to place and track requests.

• Most electronic requests are processed in 3-5 business days but can take up to 10-12 days.
• Some requests may take longer if the item is unavailable within VCU collections (not owned, checked out, missing, etc.) and must be borrowed from another library.
• Allow an additional 1 – 3 days for request processing if submitted over the weekend.
